Sansan Global (Thailand) Co., Ltd. is a pivotal overseas expansion base for Sansan, Inc..
Established in 2023, the Thailand branch, though small, is rapidly growing with a diverse group of members who combine global and local perspectives.
We interviewed three of our key members active at Sansan Thailand since its early days. They spoke about their deep belief in the product, the challenge of entering the paper-heavy Thai market, and the sense of team unity that transcends cultural backgrounds. We learned how they’ve established their roles and values while venturing into a largely unknown environment.

Pioneering the Thai market’s digital transformation
Please introduce yourself and tell us why you joined Sansan Thailand.
My name’s Sarawut Topthop, but people simply call me Tae (rhymes with “play”). I’m proud to be the first Thai team member to join Sansan. Currently, I’m responsible for business development at Sansan Global Thailand.
I joined Sansan because I was eager to immerse myself in a startup environment that demands agility, proactiveness, and a strong drive to compete in the early stages of market expansion. I see great potential for personal and professional growth here, and Sansan offers the kind of dynamic and forward-thinking atmosphere that aligns with my aspirations.
Above all, I have strong confidence in Sansan’s products. I believe that when you truly trust in the product you work with, you’re better positioned to perform, contribute meaningfully, and help grow the business. That belief is what fuels my commitment to this journey with Sansan.
What are your current job duties and what challenges are you currently working on?
My current responsibilities include pursuing Bill One business opportunities and supporting the Japan sales team. A key part of my role is convincing local Thai clients to adopt Bill One. To do this effectively, I have to gain a deep understanding of each customer’s business, operations, and the specific challenges they face. I then need to illustrate how Bill One can be integrated into their existing workflows. I do this by providing detailed and customized explanations.
One of the main challenges I encounter is the strong reliance on physical, paper documents in Thailand. Thai businesses are used to handling paper-based processes, and local laws require companies to retain original documents, such as tax invoices. As a result, many Thai staff are concerned that adopting our solution won’t truly reduce their operational burden, since paper documentation is still mandated by law. I find it challenging, but at the same time our business has so much potential, and putting that potential into use is part of what I’m responsible for.
What are the attractions and features in working at Sansan Thailand?
Working at Sansan is enjoyable and intellectually stimulating. I constantly have the opportunity to learn new things, particularly in technology. Each client operates with different systems and integration requirements, which challenges me to continuously expand my technical knowledge and adaptability.
I also deeply value Sansan’s open and inclusive culture. The company encourages idea-sharing, and every voice is heard, whether it’s related to product development or operational improvements. It’s empowering to work in an environment where contributions are genuinely valued.

Foundation for customer success built from the ground up
Please introduce yourself and tell us why you joined Sansan Thailand.
My name is Nanpasa Phophug, but you can call me Ploy. I was the first local member to join Sansan’s Thailand office. Before joining, I worked as a financial auditor, but I was looking for an opportunity to apply my accounting knowledge in a new and more dynamic environment. I wanted to work in a role that let me communicate in English and collaborate with a global team. Sansan offered me exactly that—a chance to be part of an international business, grow professionally, and contribute to building something from the ground up in Thailand.
What are your current job duties and what challenges are you currently working on?
Currently, I work in the Bill One Customer Success team. My main responsibility is onboarding customers after the sales process. I work closely with clients to understand their current workflows and help design optimized “TO-BE” (what they’re aiming for) workflows that incorporate Bill One.
One of the biggest challenges I face is managing client expectations, especially when encouraging them to change their old and familiar processes. My goal is to ensure that customers see real value in our service. My biggest reward is when I see a client successfully adopt Bill One and feel satisfied with the results. It also gives us great customer case examples to support further growth in the Thai market.
What are the attractions and features in working at Sansan Thailand?
One of the most unique aspects of working at Sansan is our product, Bill One. It’s a powerful solution that centralizes and streamlines the invoice verification process, helping clients reduce manual effort and improve efficiency. I value being part of a product that delivers real impact. Throughout my journey here, I’ve gained valuable skills in internal communication and learned how to share useful insights across teams. I’ve grown professionally by working across departments and being involved in both strategic discussions and day-to-day operations.
What’s the atmosphere like among your colleagues and team?
Working at Sansan Thai feels like being part of a supportive and respectful community. Our culture reflects Japanese values. People are kind, considerate, and open to discussion. While decisions sometimes take time because of thorough consideration from all perspectives, this ensures that we build strong, well-rounded solutions. The team is adaptable and flexible, which helps us handle various situations effectively and harmoniously.

Staying close to our customers and creating a valuable onboarding experience
Please introduce yourself and tell us why you joined Sansan Thailand.
I worked for seven years in sales at a Japanese non-life insurance company. Rather than direct sales, I supported agencies through motivation, training, and performance management. This developed my presentation and consulting skills. When considering a career in Thailand, I searched for roles that would let me apply these strengths. I found Sansan’s approach of working alongside clients to achieve their goals using a proprietary service to be highly aligned with my experience and values, which led me to take on this new challenge.
What are your current job duties and what challenges are you currently working on?
I work in the Sansan Customer Success team. I support clients during their onboarding phase by helping them build their contact databases. For long-term users, I focus on increasing engagement and solving challenges. When objectives are unclear, I help define goals. When users have a clear vision, I suggest how to use Sansan’s features effectively. Each client is unique, which makes every project different and fulfilling. These experiences contribute to my ongoing growth.
What are the attractions and features in working at Sansan Thailand?
Sansan regularly improves its systems based on client and employee feedback. This means we have to constantly refresh our knowledge. And working across different countries means adapting to varied economic conditions and privacy expectations. For example, handling business cards as personal data involves legal and cultural sensitivity. I find it rewarding to be in an environment where I can keep learning—not just about the service itself, but also about global business, compliance, and customer behavior.
What’s the atmosphere like among your colleagues and team?
Our Global team is small but diverse, with members from different countries and even some based in Japan and Singapore. This cultural variety helps us offer perspectives and solutions that a single background might miss. It also encourages open communication. Since we come from different contexts, we naturally share more and learn from one another. This environment has helped me get used to expressing my thoughts and concerns more openly and proactively.
